Sofia Oliver - Operations manager

Sofia joined the MFC in August 2023 as the Operations Manager. She brings her love of plants and experience working in the nursery and flower farm worlds together with her background in operations management, marketing & communications to help us spread more locally-grown Maine flowers across the state.

 
 
 

Luke Maccormick - market floor lead

Luke joined the MFC in April 2024 as the Market Floor Lead. He is excited to bring his experience in farming and farmers markets to the MFC in-person wholesale market. Luke has worked on veggie farms in Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Maine, and is starting his own micro flower farm this spring. He is looking forward to making the market a fun and productive experience for growers and buyers in the collective.

The Board is made up of farmers and florists who are Member-Owners of the Collective, all of whom have contributed countless hours to getting this Collective up and running! Mary Lou has 40+ years in the green industry. She is currently intensively farming and foraging on six acres in central Maine, marketing vegetables and flowers through farmers’ markets and wholesale direct to florists.

Michelle began her studio-based floral design company in 2018 with a love for local and seasonal blooms and foliage. Primarily designing weddings, Michelle finds herself up and down Maine's Southern region and into New Hampshire throughout each season.

The Snells have grown cut flowers for decades, making bouquets to sell at farmers’ markets. Carolyn has taken on the cut flower piece of the business, continuing with the weekly bouquets, and since 2010 designing florals for weddings and events.

Andrea began her business, Honeysuckle Way, as a flower farm in 2014. Over the years, she has transitioned to become primarily a wedding floral designer with a focus on seasonality and garden inspired designs.

Ryan and his wife Courtney own and operate Mare Brook Farm where they grow specialty cut flowers, certified organic edible flowers and herbs, and sustainably harvest evergreens. Mare Brook offers flowers through our CSAs, retail partners, special event work, and wholesale buyers. They are looking forward to working with the Maine Flower Collective to infuse more local blooms and more joy throughout the state.

Abby is the owner and operator of Black Dog Blooms in Sangerville, ME. She has been running her small-scale specialty cut flower farm alongside her husband, Devon since 2020, where they grow a variety of premium and unique flowers with the goal to provide our community and designers with high-quality, lush blooms that are ecologically & responsibly grown.

Katie Lovins is the founder and lead floral designer of Clo Floral, an abstract contemporary design studio based in Yarmouth, ME. Primarily designing for weddings and events, Katie draws inspiration from nature and the seasons.

Rebecca Toothacker, Hart Farm (Holden, Maine)

Becky operates Hart Farm in Holden alongside her husband, Andrew. In addition to growing flowers, her farm produces vegetables and raises livestock for their CSA and on-farm dinners.

Producing and arranging local blooms has been a part of Becky's farming career for over a decade and flowers continue to be an integral part of the identity of Hart Farm.
